  Illustrative Standard recap from a 12-team sample league, Week 1: LaPorta Party scored 119.62, finished fourth in the league, and has absolutely nothing in the win column to show for it. The problem was the opponent: Lamario Kart led everyone with 136.90 and took the week’s biggest shootout by 17.28. LaPorta outscored three of the six winners. The roster did its job; the schedule declined to cooperate. At the other end of the stress scale, Breece Lightning escaped Bijan Mustard 101.18 to 99.84. That 1.34-point margin was the closest of the week, and neither team reached the league average of 105.37. Breece gets the same 1–0 record as the scoring leader, just with considerably less reason to feel comfortable. Bijan’s opening loss is a narrow one, not a reason to dismantle the roster on Tuesday. Allen the Family had no such suspense in the final score: 128.72 to 67.44 over Game of Jones, a league-high 61.28-point margin. Allen finished second in scoring. Game of Jones finished last and would have lost to every possible opponent this week. Unlike LaPorta, there is no scheduling complaint available here. The lineup deserves a closer look before Week 2. Elsewhere, Dak to the Future put up the third-highest score, beating Hurts So Good 124.56 to 92.38. Olave Garden’s 112.48 was fifth-best and comfortably cleared Kittle Corn’s 88.76. Saquondo rounded out the winners with a 108.34 to 84.26 result over Mahomes Alone. Three wins, three margins above 23 points, and three losing managers with a full week to prepare a response. The first standings say six teams are 1–0 and six are 0–1. The scoring tells a more useful story: LaPorta has more to build on than the record suggests, while Breece has less breathing room.
